Description of the visit
The route of the châteaux in the Médoc is of a rare intensity. We set off for a 40-minute drive with a breathtaking panorama unique to the Médoc. An alternation of châteaux and vineyards delights the glance. The Médoc vineyard is in a class of its own. It spreads out between the ocean and the Gironde estuary, a real inland sea, unique in the world. The gently sloping valleys alternate with the gravelly hillsides where the vines grow. The journey is rich in oenological discoveries. We arrive at Château Pédesclaux where our hosts are waiting for us for a tasting visit that gives this journey its full meaning. The next tasting will take us to the château…where we will be able to take some refreshment. The return to Bordeaux is scheduled for 2:00 pm after a visit to the Estuary and a stop at the Winery of Arsac to buy wines and other gourmet specialties of the Médoc.
