Choose a vintage car to share on your journey—read the stories of Eglantine and Marguerite below!

Eglantine once belonged to the vicar of Brantome parish in Perigord—this car was once holy!

She hit the road on April 4th 1978, and accompanied the vicar to his Perigordian parishes for thirty years. The good Father always said she was heaven-sent, and Saint Christopher must have watched over them both, because Eglantine was steady and true all through her time with the vicar.

She never broke down or crashed, and brought him safely to his flock. By 2008, Eglantine had 35000 kilometres on her speedometer. She was retired to a garage in Perigord, where she slept for years as birds and field mice made their cozy nests on her dashboard. In 2020, she received a makeover and a new purpose: to show people the vineyards that her former driver had so loved. Eglantine headed out again…

As for Marguerite, she belonged to a kindly schoolteacher, Jean René Dumont. Jean René’s real passion was music, and he played the tuba. His old students still tell stories of Jean René playing for them when classes stretched too long and students’ heads tired of arithmetic.

Marguerite traversed the narrow streets of Entre-deux-Mers, taking Jean René and his tuba to band practice. He dolled her up for parades, playing fanfares out of her windows. The pair were known throughout Gironde for twenty years, until Marguerite was passed over for a more modern ride. But Jean René kept her in his garage and his heart as a memory of the musical exploits of his youth.

Finally, wishing to see her out in the world again, he sold Marguerite with a tear in his eye and a promise that she would be well taken care of. Every once in a while, Marguerite passes by Jean René’s house on her travels and honks with joy…

Lastly, choose the date that you would like to experience the beautiful chateaux of Bordeaux. We hope you have a lovely trip and a great day in the company of our passionate guide, Laurent.
