Description of the visit
The discovery of the vineyards and châteaux of Pessac Léognan and the Graves is an immersion in the discovery of the first wine-producing terroirs of Gironde but also in their struggle to exist and survive. A fight against the nibbling of urbanisation. An affirmation of terroir that perfectly defines the notion of château. A place that resists the ephemeral and the superficial. It is also a plunge into the history that still defines our present. We will approach the terroir of Pessac Léognan after a 15-minute journey through the countryside of southern Bordeaux. The terroir is made up of historic whites and reds described as the quintessential Bordeaux by their sweetness. A terroir steeped in history and mystery. From the Romans to the Templars, from Pape Clement 5 to Eleanor of Aquitaine, you can feel the history of the vines and the wine with all your senses. The vibrations are felt in each glass of wine. We will be welcomed at Château Léognan, Carmes Haut Brion, …for a tasting rich in discoveries, then we will eat along the way and finally we will be able to complete this gallery of unforgettable memories by shopping in the wine shops of Pape Clément and Léognan. We will be back in the centre of Bordeaux by 3pm.
